Because the field of Gifted Education can be isolating

GEN Brings Us Together

The field of Gifted Education can be isolating.  GEN brings us together.

Julia Johnson met with Cindy Dwyer in 2009 when a colleague connected them through e-mail.  They soon visited each other’s classrooms,  and shared curriculum ideas.  After several discussions about the issue of isolation in the field of Gifted Education, they decided to do something about it by starting the Gifted Education Network (GEN).

The mission of GEN is fundamentally simple:  no stress, no obligations, just a place to connect with one another and share.

Cindy’s life journey led her to teaching fourth grade general education in 2015.  Since then, Julia continues to carry out their vision for GEN.
